Completed Projects

Refurnished lobby with a Hawaiian theme
- Replaced the terminal roof
- Replaced the air conditioning chiller plant and cooling system
- Refurnished the lobby
- Replaced three passenger-loading bridges
- Completed the Keaukaha Subdivision Noise Attenuation Pilot Project
- Repaired pavement to taxiways and ramps
- Installed new windows with steel frames on the second floor
Projects in Progress
- Construct new, 60,000 square foot cargo facility, parking (phase 2) and apron (phase 1) to replace the current facility in the old terminal, which was not designed for current operational needs
- Monitoring aircraft noise levels to determine what mitigation measures should be implemented for the communities close to the airport
Long Term Efforts
- Expand existing parking lot to add 800 stalls
- Update Hilo Airport’s master plan and noise program
- Keaukaha Subdivision Noise Attenuation Program, phase 2
