The DHEDP is a multi-year program that will replace the current Diamond Head Concourse and provide the following improvements:

  • Two new, multi-level concourses
  • 17 new gatehouses/widebody aircraft positions, all capable of supporting international arrivals
  • Safeguarded Lobby 9 area
  • New Federal Inspection Services (FIS) area, with five baggage claims and inbound baggage handling system
  • New 10-lane Security Screening Check Point (SSCP)
  • ~55,000 sq. ft of concessions space
  • Four remote hardstand positions
  • Additional Tour Group check-in/baggage drop zone
  • Additional outbound baggage handling improvements
  • New employee parking structure

The DHEDP is broken into four phases:

  • Advanced Planning Study (Q1 2020 through Q3 2021)
  • Environmental Impact Report (Q2 2021 through Q1 2024)
  • Design (2024 through 2027)
  • Construction (2027 through 2033)
